Wobbler Classroom
Wobbler Classroom
The Wobbler Classroom is for ages 12 months to 17 months. This classroom is designed for children who are beginning to explore movement and independence. With a predictable routine, we offer a balanced mix of structured activities and free play. The Frog Street Toddler curriculum guides our activities, incorporating engaging songs, movement exercises, and hands-on learning experiences. Social-emotional development is a key focus, helping children build confidence and communication skills as they begin to interact more with peers. Our teachers provide a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and discovery.
Cognitive Development – How Wobblers Learn to Think
Academy Goal

Provide rich, hands-on experiences that encourage toddlers to explore, experiment, make choices, and use early problem-solving skills—building strong foundations for memory, attention, reasoning, and curiosity.
wobblers at this age learn best through active exploration. They begin to test ideas, repeat actions, investigate how things work, and solve simple challenges. Their thinking becomes more intentional as they match, stack, fill, dump, imitate, and experiment with cause-and-effect.

Foundations We Aim to Build in Wobblers

-
Cause & Effect (advanced)
Understanding how actions create outcomes
Examples: pushing, dumping, stacking, turning knobs. -
Object Permanence (strengthening)
Remembering that objects exist even when hidden
Developed through: hiding games, containers, treasure boxes. -
Problem Solving
Trying new strategies to reach, push, stack, and explore
Examples: figuring out lids, puzzles, simple obstacles. -
Memory & Recall
Remembering people, routines, songs, and familiar tasks. -
Attention & Persistence
Staying focused longer and repeating activities with purpose. -
Symbolic Thinking (early imitation)
Pretending to talk on a phone, stirring with a spoon, or copying adult actions. -
Curiosity & Exploration
Showing interest in how things work, what things do, and what happens next.
Social–Emotional Development – How Wobblers Learn to Feel Safe, Connected & Confident
Academy Goal

Support Wobblers in developing emotional regulation, independence, confidence, and positive relationships through responsive caregiving and predictable routines.
During this stage, Wobblers begin to express big emotions and explore their growing independence. They look to caregivers for reassurance, guidance, and help naming and managing their feelings. Safe, secure relationships allow toddlers to thrive emotionally and socially.

Gaining independence (“I do it!”), expressing preferences, and developing confidence. -
Early Social Skills
Taking turns with help, responding to guidance, and engaging in playful interactions.

Provide safe, developmentally appropriate opportunities for Wobblers to climb, walk, stack, scribble, carry, push, and explore as they develop strength, balance, coordination, and motor control.
At this age, wobblers become active explorers. They are walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, carrying objects, and strengthening both gross and fine motor skills through daily movement.

Foundations We Aim to Build

-
Gross Motor Skills
Walking, climbing, squatting, stepping up, pushing carts, crawling through tunnels. -
Fine Motor Skills
Scribbling, stacking blocks, picking up small objects, placing items into containers. -
Hand–Eye Coordination
